Voice consent
How a voice is reproduced: your personal voice, the voices of the people in your videos, the recorded consent and its withdrawal.
Updated on October 22, 2026Obtain clear authorization
Before transforming or reproducing an identifiable voice, obtain an authorization covering the project, the languages and the intended distribution. Keep proof of this authorization and check how long it remains valid.
Your personal voice
A personal voice is a copy of your voice, made by our speech synthesis provider from a recording of 30 seconds to 5 minutes that you make or upload in the studio. It is made only from your own voice: beforehand, the studio shows a statement in your language that you accept. In it you confirm that the voice is yours, that you are an adult, that you are not imitating another person or a public figure, and you authorize the recording to be sent to our provider.
Reproduced voices are included from the Pro plan. Your voice stays private until you share it with your team. The recording is deleted from our servers as soon as the provider has answered. Merely possessing an audio file is not proof of consent.
The voices of the people in your videos
To dub a video with the original voice of those speaking in it, you must first confirm in the studio, with the statement shown in your language, that every person speaking has agreed to have their voice reproduced, or that you are that person. Without this confirmation, no voice copy is made: the dub uses voices close to the original one chosen from our library.
- The confirmation is recorded for the project. For the automatic dubbing of a channel, it applies to the channel’s new videos and is asked of you again every year; without an up-to-date confirmation, automatic dubbing stops.
- The copy of each voice is made from the person’s own words in the video and is used only for the project’s dubs. It is deleted at the provider as soon as all the project’s languages are dubbed (a new dub creates it again), and at the latest with the project’s files.
- You remain responsible for the accuracy of this confirmation (see the Terms of use).
The recorded consent
For each consent, we keep: who gave it, when, a fingerprint of the network address (never the address itself), the version and language of the statement shown with the fingerprint of its text and, for a personal voice, the fingerprints of the recording and its duration. We keep this record as proof: when the voice is deleted, it is closed but not erased, and it remains after the account is deleted.
Withdrawal and deletion
You can withdraw your consent at any time: deleting your personal voice in the studio erases it at the provider, then on our side. It is also erased if the owner of the workspace removes you from it, or if you delete your account. A person whose voice has been reproduced in a video can report it to us from the Contact page (“Personal data” category).
Voice and biometric data
A reproduced voice can identify a person: we treat it as biometric data. It is made only with explicit consent and used only for the dubs concerned. See the Privacy policy.
