Reviewing a video dub before publishing

A checking method for translations, voices, pace and the final mix.

Check the meaning first

Read the translation while watching the picture. Product demos, figures, warnings, names and calls to action must keep their intent. A sentence on its own may look correct yet not fit the scene.

Have the text reviewed by someone skilled in the target language when the content is sensitive or meant for a wide audience.

Listen to the pace and the voices

Watch the whole video, then go back over the transitions. Silences, overlapping speech and speaker changes reveal flaws that a text-only check misses.

Make sure each speaker’s identity stays consistent from one scene to the next. Reproducing an identifiable voice requires the appropriate consent.

Examine the final render

Compare the dubbed speech with the music and ambient sounds. The volume must stay intelligible without wiping out the sound context. Check the first and last seconds, the cuts and the sync with the picture.

Download a review version, then approve the MP4 before release. In MadeinVox, a corrected line is regenerated on its own, without redoing the dub.
